Solos Duos Todos presented by the San Diego Art Institute

SOLOS DUOS TODOS aims to engage performers working with sound, video, movement, and other media, in collaborative improvisation.

Performers are invited to bring a reasonable amount of gear to experiment with, set up in a circle, each perform 3 minute solos (getting to know you), then 3 minute duos (AB, BC, CD, DE, EF, FA – ideally with people you haven't played with before), then a short set of everyone together (10 minutes). This is not an open mic, so please don't expect to play anything precomposed.

The idea is to experiment in collaboration, try new styles/equipment, and meet new people. Please bring a small set up with practice amp, acoustic, plug into our mixer, or your own projector. For dancers/movers, the floor is smooth concrete, no marley. The instrumentation/medium is open, but the structure is fairly rigid. Performers ought to be willing to collaborate and leave each other space. Audiences have the opportunity to see/hear talented performers of San Diego in chance encounters.
